Accounting is such a serious business, what with the IRS lurking in the background and irate customers demanding different numbers. Admit it. Sometimes smiling is such a great effort. That's where I can help. Stick one of these funny art prints on your wall and see the mood change from serious to happy.
Folks knowledgeable in the accounting profession have often asked me: "Why do you use 'practices' rather than 'principles' in your caption?"
With apologizes to GAAP, here is my reason: Fortunately (for some), it is not constitutional in this country to prosecute someone for his or her "principles". But he or she most certainly can be prosecuted, jailed, tarred and feathered for his or her "practices". I'm practicing "artistic license" here and trust I'm not breaking any laws.
Of course, there are always "alternate methods of accounting" to consider.
