MACRAME FOR HORSESI've created a page on this website to offer fans of Cat Zimmer, youth mustang trainer, a reduced price on my macrame feather art - or "Horse Feathers". All profits go towards the care of her latest Extreme Mustang Makeover filly, Sunni.
This amazing young lady is becoming a legend in the mustang horse world, and for good reason. She's a natural and gets fantastic results with kindness and patience. Her CZ Mustang Rescue is also providing homes and second (sometimes, last) chances for abused, neglected, or difficult mustangs. Some of these mustangs, once they are rehabilitated, will be available for adoption. Taking care of horses is expensive. That's why I'm donating these horse feathers sales to help in some small way. Cat and her mom, Sara Price, work hard day in and day out for the horses in their care. It's the least I can do. You can help by sharing this page with your horse friends: go to Cat Zimmerman and Sunni Thanks!

The new softer cord is such a blessing! So much easier on my hands and the design possibilities are beautiful. I've put this macrame hanging on my Etsy store recently and it's getting a lot of interest.
The fringe gives this piece a soft look and I think it would work great in a nursery or bedroom. Bathrooms would be a perfect place to hang this little gem, too. Measurements are 13" wide by 17" long. A piece of one of our fire-cured, hand-polished bamboo with a substantial diameter serves as the mount. I've added a feather just for fun, although it looks just as good without it. For boho decor, it's a sure bet. Wont you please share or pin and visit my Etsy shop to ♥ this new hanging? Thanks for visiting! - Kayce So, after a couple of years making these macrame wall hangings, my hands are really suffering. To give them a break, I've started using this new, soft, unstructured cord. And I'm liking it!
In order to give the hanging bulk and dimension, I added layers upon layers. The look is different than my other designs: a softer, more romantic feel with a definite Boho vibe. One of our bamboo rods that I've been saving for the perfect piece made the perfect rod. It has a lot of interesting bulges and rings. The hanging doesn't have a name yet - I give all my hangings names and I'm taking suggestions. If you review my other macrame pieces, you'll notice there's a theme to the names. Here's the good news: See if you can come up with an idea that fits and leave it in the comments below. If I choose your name, you win one of these Boho tapestries! Like, share, and save to Pinterest. And visit my Etsy store and "heart" this new addition to my macrame gallery. Macrame Chair Backs In Two SizesThe wedding season never ends! These little macrame chair backs, as with all things "boho", are very popular in wedding decor these days. I can make these macrame pieces in whatever size chairs you have. Currently, I listed 15" wide (above) by 26" long; and 11" wide (below) by 26" long on my Etsy Shop.
Like most all my designs, I can adjust the width and length to suite your needs. The distinctive design of "Celebration" features a double half hitch "bead" across the top, followed by rows of alternating square knots. V- patterns (3 in the 15" version, and 2 in the 11" version) end with "bulbs" and "spirals". Decorate your wedding or event with "Celebration" macrame chair backs. A special touch for a special occasion. Summer's winding down, sigh, and it won't be long before kids are heading back to school. While Boho-Style is trending for weddings and nurseries, Bohemian decor is also hot for dorm rooms. And nothing speaks Boho like macrame. This small macrame hanging, "Mindfulness", is very popular for dorm room decorating. Featuring a V-pattern of open, alternating square knots in 3mm 100% cotton braided macrame cord, the hanging is mounted to one of our bamboo rods. "Mindfulness" is available on my Etsy shop and can be ship directly to a gift recipient with a note. If you're heading back to school or know someone who is, this modern macrame hanging adds lots of Bohemian flair to dorm walls. Local Wedding Uses New DesignLeslie (of Leslie Vega Design) was kind enough to send me photos of her wedding. She used "Romantica", my newest macrame wedding design, for an area she set aside for photos. The venue, on Lake Sante Fe in Melrose Florida, was stunning and so was Leslie.
"Romantica" is now available on my Etsy shop and is already getting favorite-ed and orders are coming in. The simple yet elegant design allows for easy customizing, and the affordable price makes it a great choice for budgets. Several can be hung at different locations or a big one creates a significant splash. Good job, Leslie, and thanks for sharing! And the winner is....Sarah Price, best selling author of Amish romance novels, released her latest book at just after midnight this morning. Newberry Acres hit Amazon at 12:01 and to celebrate, she hosted a live Book Release party on Facebook last evening.
For her fans, she held a contest offering this sweet little macrame hanger, for liking and sharing her page. The winner was announced this morning at her Morning Coffee broadcast (Sarah is actually the Energizer Bunny) and I'll be shipping it out to the lucky winner soon. Congratulations! Curious about the new book? Jump over to her website, Sarah Price Author, and read up on the plot. An Amish adaptation of Jane Austin's North Anger Abby, Sarah introduces a whole new universe of characters. The heroine Catherine, as you may have guessed, is a "maker" who creates macrame art to support her family. Check out Sarah's new book then scoot over to her FaceBook page for daily "Morning Coffee" live broadcasts. If you're already a Sarah Price fan, won't you please leave a comment below? Thanks! Macrame Wedding Decor AdditionWith the wedding season growing close, I've been working on different macrame ceremony backdrops for my Etsy shop. Pictured above is a large macrame hanging I finished this weekend. The pattern I used is a longer, wider, straight-edged version of "Harmony".
What I like about this hanging is it easily allows for size customization to fit the circumstance. And it transfers readily to home decor. I've placed the macrame hanging above a console table here, but it could just as easily be used as a headboard, above a couch, or as a window covering. So often, macrame wedding backdrops look like they're basically made for one-time use, to be thrown away after the ceremony. No so with this hanging. I build my pieces out of the highest quality cord available and put a lot of attention into the detail, creating a family heirloom to keep, use, and hand down. The pattern for this straight "Harmony" is filled with medallions, rosettes, braids and diamonds. These design elements take a lot of time and require straight, tight knotting, but I think it's worth it. If you're using this piece in your wedding ceremony, you certainly want a rich looking tapestry befitting the occasion! Once it transfers to the home, the extra attention to detail and the quality materials will never no out of style. If you like my new creation, then "like" and share below! Visit my Etsy shop to see more macrame wedding decorations. Thanks for stopping by and your comments are welcome below.
I was thrilled, to say the least, that she wanted to feature "Interlude" on her blog. Check out this article on my macrame piece as well as the rest of Steph's blog. You'll find for some insightful tidbits and fantastic photos as she chronicles life with her new baby. Feel free to share.
